Our journey into the world of coffee started over 15 years ago.
As a young Whistler ski bum, coffee was but mere fuel in a scene of “first chairs and last calls”. Since then, working tirelessly in the coffee and restaurant industry has brought us around the globe, honed our skills, deepening our appreciation for the opportunities it offers and the sensory experiences it delivers. The people we met, the food we shared, the conversations over stained empty cups, inspired us to build a venue that would emulate these extraordinary adventures.
In the heart of the Canadian Rockies, in small town Golden, BC, nestled between the OSO buildings, Ethos’ mission is to thrive to embody the values of its environment. Standing on the shoulders of giants, we are proud to share the fruits of the land that surrounds us, inspire and awe people through superior products and mastery of our trade and explore methods that will have lasting positive impacts on our community.
OUR COFFEE
Coffee has a longstanding reputation of bringing people together, brightening up our day to day and fueling our adventures. It's worldwide popularity has given birth to an incredible variety of processes and products, inspiring us to bring world class coffee to small town Golden, BC.
Therefore, it brings us great joy to serve the most consistent, bold and inspiring caffeinated (and non-caffeinated) drinks to the public in hopes of pleasing aficionados and amateurs alike. You'll find on our shelves and in our grinders the finest beans on the market, from complex anaerobic fermented single origins to tried and true dark roast blends.
OUR FOOD
Food is life... and it also brings life to any situation! We also happen to love good, wholesome, homemade recipes. In our process of bringing exciting dishes to our customers, we wanted to implement a more sustainable methodology that would set limits to direct us.
Our hopes are to one day have a menu that is completely farm to table, offering the freshest local produce, supporting growers in the region and showcasing the health and quality benefits of unprocessed food.
Waste mitigation through better food management, recycling and composting are also necessary steps towards reaching our sustainability goals.
All our food items are prepared in house, with the utmost attention to quality, presentation and food safety. We can't wait to share a plate with you!
OUR BAKING
During the pandemic, we, as many others, began our sourdough journey. With just a dabble in the world of bread and the guidance of baker extraordinaire Chad Robertson, we decided to immediately bring this newfound passion to the public.
The arduous task of producing consistently good loaves has humbled us greatly, pushed us to scrutinize every detail of our process and deepened our appreciation for good bread.
Like our coffee, we want to offer a complex, aesthetic and pleasing sensory experience through one of the world's oldest commodities. Look for mouth-watering dark, caramelized crusts, airy crumbs and delicate sourness in all our different leaven-based products.
